Why you should wipe MFT free space

MFT (Master File Table) is a reserved space on NFTS disks which contains information about all files and folders located within the disk. Directory entries in FAT is the analog of MFT records on NTFS.
MFT is a special system file that contains file attributes which instruct the system how to deal with the file or folder associated with the corresponding record.
Deleting files using standard Windows operations, just marks corresponding entries in MFT (Directory entries for FAT) as unused, but this operation does not delete file content as well as correponding MFT records (on NFTS) / Directory entries (on FAT) such as deleted file names and other attributes.
